Rascal's Reading Challenge is open to all K-8 students in school districts in Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland and Sullivan Counties.

Rascal's Reading Challenge takes place during the spring of the school year and culminates with the two Rascal's Reading Challenge Nights at Heritage Financial Park.

Students will have to hit a Grand Slam by reading four (4) books of any length in a time period designated by the Renegades and their teachers and librarians. If they complete the challenge, they will receive two (2) complimentary tickets to the Rascal's Reading Challenge Night of their choice. On the night they attend, Rascal's Reading Challenge participants are encouraged to participate in a special pregame parade on the field with other participants.

Pregame parades take place approximately 30 minutes before first pitch, at 5:35 p.m. Instructions on where and when to line up for the parades will be communicated prior to the night's game.

Once the student has completed reading requirements and hit a Grand Slam, parents will click on the “Redeem Your Voucher” button and fill out the questions to book tickets. Parents may also purchase additional tickets for your family to attend the game and celebrate your child’s accomplishment! Tickets will delivered digitally via email after you’ve purchased additional tickets.
