Former Isotope Eddie Butler and the Iowa Cubs (50-56) held the Isotopes (55-54) offense at bay, defeating Albuquerque on Monday evening, 5-3. With the loss the Isotopes have fallen back to two games behind the first-place Salt Lake Bees.

Butler, who pitched for the Isotopes in 2015 and 2016 picked up his second win of the season after allowing just one run over his 5.0 innings on the hill.
Isotopes starter Zach Jemiola struggled on the hill, allowing all five runs (four earned) during his 4.2 innings of work on the mound.
In relief of Jemiola, Isotopes pitchers Jairo Díaz, Sam Moll and Carlos Estévez retired all 13 batters they faced.
Offensively for the Isotopes, Ryan McMahon led the way with three hits for his club. Pinch-hitter Rosell Herrera knocked home a run in his only at bat while Rafael Ynoa registered a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
The Isotopes loaded the bases with no outs in the final frame against former teammate Matt Carasiti. However, the closer was able to preserve the lead for Iowa and pick up his 19th save of the season.
Albuquerque and Iowa wrap up their four-game set Tuesday afternoon from Isotopes Park when Yency Almonte (1-0, 2.57) will toe the rubber for Glenallen Hill's squad. He will be opposed by the Cubs righty Williams Pérez (5-7, 5.06). First pitch in the series finale is set for 12:05 p.m.
