Dalton Hicks named MWL Player of the Week

for the period April 4-14

Cedar Rapids, IA - Cedar Rapids Kernels first baseman Dalton Hicks has been named the Midwest League Player of the Week for the period April 4-14.


During that period, Hicks hit .387 (12-31) with seven doubles, two HR and 10 RBI. He also drew five walks, scored six runs and had an .806 slugging percentage. He was selected by the Twins in the 17th round of the 2012 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Central Florida and spent last season with the Elizabethton Twins.


Pitcher Joseph Ross of Fort Wayne was named the MWL Pitcher of the Week for the same period.


The Kernels begin a four game, three-day home stand against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers tonight at 6:35 pm at Perfect Game Field. It's Dollar Monday where select concession items are just $1. Gates open at 5:30 pm.
