Former BlueClaws Carlos Tocci and Anthony Gose were selected in Thursday's Rule 5 Draft at the Winter Meetings in Orlando.
Tocci, who played for the BlueClaws from 2013-2015, was selected by the White Sox and then traded to the Rangers. Tocci capped his BlueClaws career by hitting .321 over 59 games in 2015 and was promoted to Hi-A Clearwater after being named to the South Atlantic League All-Star Game.
This year, he hit .307 with Double-A Reading and finished the season with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Gose played for the BlueClaws in 2009 as an outfielder. He set a franchise record by stealing 76 bases with the BlueClaws en route to the 2009 South Atlantic League championship. He was traded to the Astros and then to the Blue Jays, making his big league debut in 2012. After moving to the Tigers, he was converted to a pitcher in 2017. Following the season, he signed a minor league contract with the Rangers, but was then taken by the Astros in the Rule 5 Draft.
