LANSING, Mich.- Lansing Lugnuts catcher/first baseman Hagen Danner, the Toronto Blue Jays' second-round selection in the 2017 draft, has been named the Midwest League's Player of the Week for the week of June 3-9.
In four games, Danner went 6-for-16 with a triple and three home runs, scoring five runs, knocking in seven runs, drawing two walks, stealing a base and slashing .375/.444/1.063.
Danner, 20, becomes the first Lugnuts player honored with a weekly award by the Midwest League this season. The Huntington Beach, Calif., native is in his first year with the Lugnuts.
The Lugnuts (28-33) are currently in the midst of a 10-day, 11-game road trip, wrapping up a four-game series tonight at 7 p.m. against the Lake County Captains.
The Nuts next return to Cooley Law School Stadium for a three-game series against the Bowling Green Hot Rods from June 14-16, including Star Wars Night with post-game LAFCU Fireworks on Saturday, July 15th.
