INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Louisville Bats (14-29) lost to the Indianapolis Indians (24-20) by a 4-0 score Thursday at Victory Field in Downtown Indianapolis. The Bats were shut out for the first time this season with the loss, concluding a 10-game road trip.

Bats starting pitcher, right-hander Zach Neal (2-2, 6.66) got the loss, going 5.0 innings and giving up four earned runs on eight hits, walking none and striking out two on 79 pitches, 53 strikes. Right-hander Tyler Eppler (4-2, 3.13) got the win and quality start for the Indians, keeping the Bats off the board in 6.0 innings of work, giving up four hits while walking none and striking out nine.
Jose Rafael De Paula pitched 2.0 innings out of the bullpen for Louisville, making his first appearance for the Bats since late April. Phillip Ervin and Chad Tromp contributed two-hit games for Louisville's offense, recording seven hits as a team.
The Louisville Bats start their longest homestand of the season tomorrow, Friday, May 25 against the Durham Bulls for a four-game series. Right-hander Anthony DeSclafani is set to make a rehab start for the Bats. On Saturday, May 26, Louisville will be rebranding for "Cheers to Bourbon Night" as the Louisville Mashers, wearing special Mashers uniforms that night against the Bulls with left-hander Justin Nicolino set to pitch in that game.
