Last year, the skies were quiet, but the silence ends now. For 2026, we are opening the doors to host a Thunder at Louisville Slugger Field experience that is bigger, louder, and more spectacular than ever before! Join us for a full day filled with afternoon baseball, a postgame concert on the field, and the BEST seats for the Thunder fireworks show!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

12:00 PM: Gates Open

2:05 PM: First Pitch

~30 minutes after conclusion of game: The Crashers perform

9:00 PM: Firework show begins

Baseball Game

Take in a baseball game before the huge fireworks show! Watch the hometown Louisville Bats take on the Toledo Mud Hens. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 PM.

Air Show

Ranked as one of the top five air shows in the nation! Kick back and watch the planes fly overhead while you’re inside the ballpark.

Concert

After the conclusion of the game, enjoy a live performance from The Crashers in centerfield! Field Passes will be available for purchase.

Fireworks

One of the top 100 events in North America! Experience the heart-pounding thrill of Thunder Over Louisville fireworks show from your reserved seat inside the ballpark!

Thunder at Louisville Slugger Field Parking

*Parking is available as an add-on when purchasing tickets*

  1. Slugger Field Lot - The Slugger Field parking lot will open to Bats Season Ticket Holders at 9:30 AM on the day of the event. At 1 PM the lot will open to the general public (based on availability). All spots are first-come, first-served.
  2. UofL Preston Street Garage - If the Slugger Field lot is sold out, we advise to head down Preston Street to the UofL garage.

Thunder at Louisville Slugger Field FAQ

When is the 2026 Thunder at Louisville Slugger Field event?

Saturday, April 18th. The gates will open at 12 p.m. and fans with tickets are invited to stay at Louisville Slugger Field for all the Thunder at Louisville activities.

How much are individual Thunder at Louisville Slugger Field tickets?

Tickets will start at $35 for general admission and $41 for reserved seating. Field access passes will be available to purchase at a later date.

Can I leave the stadium and come back?

Yes! Your ticket will allow you to come and go from Louisville Slugger Field throughout the day and enjoy all the Waterfront activities. You will receive a wristband that allows you to leave and re-enter from 12:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Are food and drink allowed to be brought into the stadium?

The only food and drink allowed into the stadium is one clear bottle per person. Baby food and medical supplies are permitted, just inform your gate attendant while in security lines. There are many food options in the stadium, or you can exit and re-enter for additional options on the Waterfront or at any local restaurants.

When does the concert start?

The concert will begin ~30 minutes after the conclusion of the baseball game. The concert stage will be set up in centerfield. Fans that have an admission ticket for Thunder at Louisville Slugger Field may also purchase a Field Access Pass. This pass will allow fans access to the outfield grass and enjoy the postgame concert and firework show. Blankets are allowed on the field. Chairs are not allowed on the field. Field access may not be available due to inclement weather. In the case of inclement weather, the fee paid for the Field Access Pass will be refunded.

Are backpacks or duffel bags allowed?

Due to our new clear bag policy for 2026, backpacks are not allowed. However, diaper bags are allowed with the appropriate security check. Small hand bags are also allowed. To speed up your security check process, we urge fans not to bring in bags of any sort and use our no bag security lines.

Are strollers or wagons allowed?

Strollers are allowed as long as they are left at the top of the seating bowl so as not to block stairways and exits. Wagons are not allowed.

Are chairs or coolers allowed?

Chairs that have seatbacks are not to be brought into Louisville Slugger Field. However, seat cushions and blankets are allowed for use. Coolers are prohibited.

Where are the best seats for viewing the fireworks?

The fireworks can be seen best from the first base side of the stadium or from the outfield grass by purchasing a Field Access Pass in addition to your game ticket.

Where is the best parking?

Parking will be available for purchase at the Louisville Slugger Field lot for $$$! Passes will also be available for the UofL garage at 220 S Preston St. Please contact [email protected] or call (502) 212-2287 to purchase. These passes are available for fans with game tickets only. The garage will be selling passes day of (April 12, 2025) based on availability." Fans arriving early may find street parking or access public parking lots in the surrounding area. Additional Parking Information

Witherspoon Street and Jackson Street will be closed for the Thunder at Louisville Slugger Field event. You may enter the season ticket member parking lot on the east side of the stadium from Main Street ONLY.

The following are prohibited in the Louisville Slugger Field parking lot:

  • Motor Homes, RV’s and trailers that take up more than one parking space
  • Tailgating outside of the immediate area of your parking space
  • Gas-powered generators and gas grills
  • Double parking and holding parking spaces
  • Glass bottles
  • Fireworks (there are plenty to watch overhead)

The Humana Parking Garage is not available for Season Ticket Member parking on the day of the event. Please refer to The Courier Journal for a complete list of street closures and traffic flow diagrams prior to Thunder Over Louisville.

Public Restrooms

Restrooms accessible from the outside of Louisville Slugger Field will open at 11:00 AM and will close 1 hour after gates open. At that time, only individuals with a ticket will have access to restrooms inside the stadium.
