On Saturday, October 21, the Pee Wee Reese Chapter of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) will hold a meeting at the Louisville Slugger Museum, 800 W. Main Street, Louisville, KY, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The public is welcome and invited to attend this meeting which is meant to showcase the benefits of SABR membership to baseball fans.

Founded in 1971, SABR is the oldest and foremost organization devoted to baseball history, biography, statistics, traditions, legends and all "sabermetric" aspects of the game, such as WHIP, WAR and OPS.

Information about the benefits of SABR membership will be presented. Door prizes, including a free one-year membership to a current non-member, will be offered.

The main speaker will be Dominic Latkovski of the Zooperstars and BirdZerk. Formerly BillyBird of the RedBirds, he heads up the Skillville Group, sports business entertainers who have performed in virtually every minor league ballpark un the USA. A finalist in America's Got Talent, Dominic will share insights and unique baseball stories that he's witnessed firsthand over the last 20 years.

A research presentation will be made by Dr. Joe Baumstarck titled, "Too Much Baseball? The Interaction Between Negro League, Major League and Minor League Baseball in Louisville." Dr. Baumstarck became interested in Negro League Baseball in 2004. He began serious academic work on the history of the Negro League in Louisville as he pursued an advanced degree at the University of Louisville.

Trivia guru Dr. Jack Sullivan will present a mini-version of the typical chapter Trivia Contest.

The Pee Wee Reese SABR Chapter, composed of baseball fans throughout Kentucky, offers the opportunity to everyone with a common passion for baseball to meet and share interests and information in a spirit of friendship and learning.
