MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds continued a 12-game road trip with an 3-2 loss to the Norfolk Tides at Harbor Park on Wednesday night.

Left fielder Matt Koperniak put Memphis ahead with his 12th home run at Triple-A this season in the top of the second inning. The lone other Memphis run came on a solo blast from first baseman Juan Yepez in the top of the ninth inning.

Center fielder Michael Siani also had a productive night at the plate. Siani went 2-for-4 with a double in his fifth game as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals organization.

Jake Woodford (0-2) allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits in his second start since being optioned by St. Louis. The right-handed pitcher walked four batters, struck out two and allowed a home run. Ryan Loutos, Grant Black and Andre Granillo combined to allow just one run in 5.0 innings out of the bullpen.

The Redbirds (66-74) return to AutoZone Park on Tuesday, Sept. 19 to begin the final homestand of the season at 6:45p.m. CDT against the Charlotte Knights. You can find more information on upcoming promotions at AutoZone Park here.
