MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds continued a 12-game road trip with an 10-7 loss to the Nashville Sounds at First Horizon Park on Sunday afternoon. First baseman Juan Yepez has been on fire of late. The right-handed slugger continued his hot September with six RBIs in the Memphis loss.

MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds continued a 12-game road trip with an 10-7 loss to the Nashville Sounds at First Horizon Park on Sunday afternoon.

First baseman Juan Yepez has been on fire of late. The right-handed slugger continued his hot September with six RBIs in the Memphis loss. Yepez finished Sunday 2-for-3 with a grand slam, a run scored and a walk, in addition to the season-high-tying six RBIs.

Yepez has now hit safely in 12 straight games and in 22 of his last 23 games played. In the series, he drove in a total of 14 runs, 10 of which came in the last two contests.

Starting pitcher Michael McGreevy (9-6) allowed eight runs on seven hits in 5.0 innings. The right-handed pitcher walked four batters, struck out five and allowed a home run. Five of his eight runs allowed scored in the fifth inning.

The Redbirds (65-73) return to AutoZone Park on Tuesday, Sept. 19 to begin the final homestand of the season at 6:45p.m. CDT against the Charlotte Knights. You can find more information on upcoming promotions at AutoZone Park here.
