Game-worn jerseys up for auction now!

Vests worn by Andrus, Heyward, Freeman among those up for bid on MyrtleBeachPelicans.com
June 24, 2011
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Jersey tops worn by past Myrtle Beach Pelicans stars are up for auction at MyrtleBeachPelicans.com now. The Pelicans are auctioning off the road gray jersey vests formerly worn by Myrtle Beach players from June 23rd through June 30th at 8 p.m.

Jerseys up for auction include those worn by former Pelicans and current big leaguers such as the Texas Rangers' Elvis Andrus, the Atlanta Braves' Jason Heyward, Freddie Freeman, and Tommy Hanson. A pair of jerseys worn by 2010 Pelicans who have made their big league debuts this season, pitchers Randall Delgado and Julio Teheran, are also up for bid as well as former Myrtle Beach outfielder Jordan Schafer and another top Atlanta pitching prospect, right-hander J.J. Hoover.

The minimum auction price for most jerseys is $80, and most jerseys have bid increments of $10. Higher profile name jerseys will have higher starting bids when the auction begins. The auction will be conducted exclusively through the Pelicans' official website, www.MyrtleBeachPelicans.com.

Jersey winners may choose a nameplate to attach to their jersey from the list of Pelicans players who wore that specific vest.

In 2011, the Pelicans switched to sleeved road gray jerseys from the vest look they had worn dating back to 2007. The vests to be auctioned off are gray with Pelican blue and gold piping around each arm hole, "Myrtle Beach" across the front of the top in blue and gold team script with blue numerals trimmed in gold on both the front and back.
