Round Rock, Texas - After three days off the Triple-A All-Star Break, the Round Rock Express kept their recent roll at the plate going at the expense of the Oklahoma City Dodgers, scoring eight runs on 13 hits in an 8-4 win Thursday at Dell Diamond.
Since July 4, the two teams have met for six straight games, with Round Rock winning five times. During that span, the Express has scored 49 runs on 82 hits, scoring at least seven runs in four of the six contests.
The loss was the Dodgers' 16th in the last 21 games as well as their 13th in the last 16 games.
The Dodgers (46-40) jumped out to an early lead in the first inning.
The Express tallied three runs on six hits in the third inning to take the lead, which included a string of five consecutive hits. RBI singles by
Round Rock (44-46) kept it going in the fourth inning. Two batters reached in front of
Alberto continued to torment the Dodgers, finishing 3-for-4 with four RBI. Over the last six games against the Dodgers, Alberto is 14-for-26 with three homers and 15 RBI. Prior to July 4, Alberto had hit one home run with 24 RBI for the season.
The game remained at 6-4 until the Express tacked on two more runs in the eighth inning.
