Round Rock Offense Doesn't Take Break

Round Rock, Texas - After three days off the Triple-A All-Star Break, the Round Rock Express kept their recent roll at the plate going at the expense of the Oklahoma City Dodgers, scoring eight runs on 13 hits in an 8-4 win Thursday at Dell Diamond.
Since July 4, the two teams have met for six straight games, with Round Rock winning five times. During that span, the Express has scored 49 runs on 82 hits, scoring at least seven runs in four of the six contests. 
The loss was the Dodgers' 16th in the last 21 games as well as their 13th in the last 16 games.
 
The Dodgers (46-40) jumped out to an early lead in the first inning. Henry Ramos singled with one out, and Alex Verdugo stepped up next. In his first at-bat in a week, Verdugo sent a home run to the left of the batter's eye in center field for his eighth home run of the season, giving OKC a 2-0 edge.
The Express tallied three runs on six hits in the third inning to take the lead, which included a string of five consecutive hits. RBI singles by Drew Robinson, Andy Ibáñez and Willie Calhoun put the Express in front at 3-2.
Round Rock (44-46) kept it going in the fourth inning. Two batters reached in front of Hanser Alberto, who deposited a three-run homer out to left field.
Alberto continued to torment the Dodgers, finishing 3-for-4 with four RBI. Over the last six games against the Dodgers, Alberto is 14-for-26 with three homers and 15 RBI. Prior to July 4, Alberto had hit one home run with 24 RBI for the season. 
Jake Peter responded in the fifth inning with a two-run, opposite field homer to left field. It marked Peter's first home run since May 30, and by going 2-for-3 with a walk, he collected his first multi-hit game since June 14. 
The game remained at 6-4 until the Express tacked on two more runs in the eighth inning. Juan Centeno hit a RBI double to deep left field, and Alberto followed with a RBI single to finish the scoring.
Round Rock starting pitcher Tyler Wagner (1-3) earned his first win with the Express this season. He allowed four runs on seven hits, with no walks and a season-high six strikeouts.
The bullpen duo of left-handers Brady Feigl and Jeffrey Springs kept the Dodgers scoreless over the final four innings while allowing two hits. Springs completed the final two frames to pick up his first save. 
Making his first appearance since June 29, OKC starting pitcher Daniel Corcino got off to a good start, retiring the first six batters he faced on just 20 pitches. But things turned beginning the third inning and Corcino (2-2) ended up getting knocked out of the game in the fourth inning. He allowed season highs with both six runs and eight hits. He issued one walk to go along with four strikeouts.
