Woodbridge, VA---The series opener between the Potomac Nationals (17-16) and Salem Red Sox (22-11) has been postponed due to rain. The team's will play a doubleheader on Saturday night, which will get underway at 5:30pm.
Gates will open as scheduled at 5:00pm on Saturday. The season ticket holder gate will open at its regularly scheduled time as well. Tickets for Friday night's game may be exchanged at the Extreme Custom Collision Ticket Office for equal or lesser value for any 2017 P-Nats home game, including the doubleheader, aside from July 4th and any potential playoff games.
The P-Nats and Red Sox officially begin the series Saturday night. First pitch from Pfitzner Stadium is set for 5:30pm. The Potomac broadcast will get underway at 5:15pm with the "P-Nats Leadoff Show." The broadcast can be heard on potomacnationals.com or via the TuneIn Radio App.
Saturday, The Pfitz will play host to the biggest Pfitzgiving celebration in history! The Potomac Nationals will host halfway to Thanksgiving celebrations, which will include a Bryce Harper Gobbelehead giveaway to the first 1,250 fans, presented by Cowles Parkway Ford. The Bullpen Picnic Area will have a delectable all-you-can-eat buffet-style dinner, which is available for a $10 add on to any ticket. The P-Nats will wear special Pfitzgiving theme jerseys on Saturday night, which will be auctioned off after the game, with proceeds to benefit Gar-Field High School. The Bryce Harper Gobblehead will be given away when gates open prior to game one of the doubleheader, while the P-Nats will celebrate Pfitzgiving during game two.
On Sunday, celebrate both Mother's Day and Star Wars Day at Pfitzner Stadium. A Mother's Day Expo will be set up in the concourse, which will feature four different special vendors. The first 100 moms through the gates will receive a carnation, while there will be courtesy fruit, cheese, and vegetable trays set up, as well as a make-your-own Mother's Day card booth. The P-Nats will celebrate 40 years since Star Wars: Episode IV with custom themed jerseys, which feature the Cantina Band and Han Solo. The Star Wars theme jerseys will be auctioned off, with proceeds set to benefit Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic. Sunday is also a Kids Day Sunday and the first 250 kids 12 and under will eat free, presented by Little Caesar's. Sunday is also the second Uncle Slam Reading Program Day, and a Virginia529 Super Saver Sunday.
