The Reading Fightin Phils dropped to the Portland Sea Dogs on Sunday afternoon. Portland swept Reading in the six game set. Luke Miller and Grenny Cumana smoked balls over the fence to add on runs in the loss.

Reading added another in the seventh as Arquimedes Gamboa’s RBI single plated Miller.

Cumana smashed a ball over the left field fence, his first of the season in a Reading uniform.

All three Fightin Phils players had a two-hit day.

Portland started scoring in the first and then never stopped. They added two in the first, second, and third. The Sea Dogs added another in the fourth and put up a seven spot in the fifth. The team also tacked on another in the eighth as well. The team recorded 19 hits, seven for extra bases. Six players had a multi-hit game.

McArthur handed the ball over to Jonathan Hennigan to finish the fourth and he did so with a strikeout. In the fifth, he gave up a grand slam and two other runs on four hits. Austin Ross followed with just one earned run on the board striking out three.

The Fightins turned to Aneurys Zabala for the seventh where he recorded the first 1-2-3 inning. He came out for the eighth as well giving up a solo shot, but sitting down the rest of the Sea Dogs.

The team turned to Kyle Dohy for the ninth. The righty pitched the only scoreless outing for Reading.
