(Reading, PA) - The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, are excited to announce multiple additions to its full-time staff, who will form the sales team for the brand new Redner's Event Center.

Sheila Contento joins the Fightin Phils Front Office as the Executive Director of Redner's Event Center. Contento previously interned with the R-Phils in 2007 as a game day intern, where she assisted in game day promotions, sales and marketing. Most recently, Contento spent two years as a Home Expert for Rotelle Development and Studios and before that was the Director of Sales Marketing for Sonesta Hotels. Contento is very familiar with the Reading area as she spent 11 years working for the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Reading where she rose to the Director of Sales and Marketing. In addition to her internship experience with the R-Phils, her Minor League Baseball experience also includes time with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs as a Special Events Associate. She attended and graduated from Penn State.

"Coming back to Reading is a full-circle experience for me," Contento said. "As a kid I grew up a fan – coming to games with my family, waiting in lines for giveaways, and watching the post-game fireworks show in awe. Like it is to so many, this place is special to me. To now be a part of the magic this organization delivers, and be able to span that magic throughout the entire year in the Redner’s Event Center is incredible.”

Joining Contento will be a team responsible for marketing, selling, planning and implementing events and outings in the Redner's Event Center.

Angel Martinez will continue his role as a Food and Beverage/Operations Manager for the R-Phils, while also joining the Event Center sales team as an Account Executive Redner's Event Center.
