The Reading Fightin Phils shut out the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 6-0 on a beautiful Saturday night. The team put up a six spot in the fourth on four hits and four walks to seal the deal.

Josh Stephen started off the fourth with a base hit and Madison Stokes followed up with the same. Grenny Cumana sent the first run of the night in with an RBI single to center field. Rodolfo Duran walked to load the bases. Three more consecutive base on balls pushed another three runs across the plate to make it 4-0. Stephen smoked his second hit of the inning, a two-RBI double to left. This put Reading up by six as they batted around the order and then some.

Stephen was the first R-Phil to record two hits in the same inning since KC Serna in 2016. The lefty also had two other base knocks in the game for a four-hit night.

Both teams threatened throughout the rest of the ballgame, but failed to score.

Noah Skirrow shined in his Double-A debut for the Reading Fightin Phils. The rookie pitched a solid four innings of work just allowing four hits and no runs across. Carlo Reyes followed out of the ‘pen for his debut in a Reading jersey. The righty kept the hold for the Fightins just letting up just one hit and striking out two. Reyes (W, 1-0) recorded his first win in his first attempt. Reading called upon another youngster in Nick Lackey for two innings of work. Lackney faced the minimum, shutting down the Fisher Cats in order. Brian Marconi was called upon for the ninth and finished the job.
