The Rochester Red Wings internship program provides a great opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a professional sports organization. Available to college Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors, Red Wings interns will have the opportunity to become directly involved with the team's front office and gain hands on experience and training in various aspects of Minor League Baseball including sales, ticket operations, customer service, media relations, social media, video production, graphic design, reporting, stadium operations and many other areas of a full service sports and entertainment venue. The interns train and work directly with front office staff to gain experience and knowledge of the entire Red Wings operation.

Red Wings internships are full-time commitments, working both during the week and weekends during the season. Most internships positions start between January and April and last until the end of the season. The Red Wings are looking for dedicated individuals who are enthusiastic and possess a skill set to create a positive, professional and fun-filled environment for our fans, staff and sponsors.

This experience _must be for college credit *_and all interns must be enrolled in school. *The internship is an unpaid position, though the Red Wings will provide each intern with a credit reimbursement of up to $750 or $400 (based on approved paperwork through your school).** During certain times of the program, interns may be asked to complete "labor related tasks" to support the team. In these instances, interns will receive a minimum wage ($13.20) during that time.

Interns in the Groups Sales Department will receive a well-rounded experience within all areas of ticket sales, including group sales, hospitality events & flex ticket packs. This internship requires strong communication skills, along with attention to detail. All interns learn alongside full-time staff members, and are included in departmental objectives that reach organizational goals. Group sales interns will be trained to regularly make contact with potential clients via phone calls and email correspondence. *Commission will be paid on all ticket pack and group sales. *

Group Sales interns will be expected to work games alongside the Game Day Promotions Team.

Intern will learn how to handle and plan all of the details related to our in-game entertainment including executing between-inning contests, coordinating sponsor nights, running the Kids Zone, player and mascot appearances, ballpark operations and game day activities. This position is different from gameday promotions as you will be directly working with our Promotions Coordinator in planning and executing promotions during the pre-season. You will also be help to lead and manage the gameday promotions interns.

The Promotion Intern must be available for some work days (will work around schedule) and every Red Wings home game from their start date to their end date

This position has a start date of January with an end date at the conclusion of the season (or until the student returns to school).

Interns working in the Digital Media department will learn skills and job experiences relating to graphic design, social media strategy and planning, video production, and photography.

Candidates must be available to work during the offseason and all home games with additional time required when the team is on the road. Internship runs from January until the end of the season or until candidate needs to return to school. This position is graphic design heavy with the social media being secondary.

Applicants should be Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, or Sport Management majors with proficiency in Adobe products, such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom InDesign, and Illustrator.

This internship runs from January - September and is in-person

Interns in the Video Production department will learn video production skills and job related experiences relating to video editing, photo manipulation, motion graphics, and camera operation.

Candidates must be present for all home games with some additional time required when the team is on the road. Internship runs from March/April until the end of season or until candidate needs to return to school.

Applicants should be Film, Television, Media, Graphic Design or Animation majors with proficiency in Adobe products, such as Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects.

This position will assist the Director of Communications, Morrie Silver, in all aspects of the department. Learning experiences will include but not be limited to: production of team publications, writing press releases, postgame website stories, feature stories, updating statistical information and handling media requests. Other duties may be assigned by other departments, as needed.

Students should be pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field. Applicants are required to have a strong writing background, strong communications skills and knowledge of baseball rules. Students must be proficient using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Basic Adobe inDesign and Photoshop experience a plus.

The position has a start date of February 1, 2022 and will run through April 30 (ending date flexible). Students will play an important role in the production of the media guide and yearbook.

Baseball Information & Communications, Intern

This intern experience will be tasked with the writing of Game Notes, Post-Game Notes, press releases, roster moves, among other duties including accompanying players on community appearance. The role would be required to be in-person and would work with Director to establish a workable schedule, conducive to the student’s class schedule.

Game Reporting - Internship

The internship consists of writing Game Recaps and feature stories for RedWingsBaseball.com. While previous experience is not required, strong writing skills and baseball knowledge is required. This position can be done remotely but preference will be given to those who can be in-person during home games. The position will report directly to Morrie Silver.

The Rochester Red Wings, Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, play at Frontier Field located in downtown Rochester, NY. The playing surface is a sand-based Kentucky bluegrass field that hosts 75 Minor League Baseball games, high school baseball games, boy/girl scout sleepovers, kids’ camps, batting practices as well as other special events. The events are hosted throughout the year including non-game days.

Job Description
Interns will learn and be responsible for the following: mowing, repairing mound and plate areas, assisting with infield skin maintenance, sodding, aerating and topdressing, tarp pulls and preparing field during inclement weather, set up and tear down of batting practice and special events.

Preferred Qualifications
• Currently enrolled or recent graduate of a 2 or 4 year turf program
• Able to work long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs. with ease
• Able to operate necessary turf equipment with training
• Highly motivated individuals interested in working in baseball long term
