Rome Pitching Strikes Out 13, Braves Win 6-4

The Rome Braves (9-19) defeated the Greenville Drive (7-21) by a score of 6-4 to take the series and improve to 4-3 on the home stand.

The Braves struck early in the first on an RBI triple by Sean Godfrey and a pair of RBI singles by Tanner Krietemeier and Ryan Wilson for the 3-0 lead. Rome added to their lead in the second on an RBI triple by Connor Oliver and a Johan Camargo ground out that plated Oliver for the 5-0 score. The Drive notched single runs in the fourth and fifth and the Braves added a single run in the eighth. Greenville attempted to rally in the ninth with on a two run double by Jim Rider but the Braves bullpen would hold on for the final 6-4 victory.

Matt Marksberry (2-6) gets his second straight win while Myles Smith (3-6) is charged with the loss.
