Johnny Doskow, Radio Play-by-Play Broadcaster

In November of 2000, the Sacramento River Cats named Johnny Doskow their play-by-play announcer. Now, more than 21 years later, Johnny is a mainstay of the Sacramento community and his signature, "Holy Koudelka," is known throughout River Cat nation.

Doskow joined the River Cats from Fresno, where he spent three seasons as the play-by-play announcer and host of daily pregame and postgame shows for the Fresno Grizzlies. Prior to joining the Grizzlies, Doskow worked two seasons as the play-by-play broadcaster for the High Desert Mavericks of the California League and three seasons doing the play-by-play announcing for the Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Midwest League.

Doskow has received recognition from a number of national publications, including Baseball America, who named him one of the top 10 minor league broadcasters during the 1999 season. Locally, Doskow won the Sacramento News and Reviews "Best Soul in a baseball broadcaster" award in the 2004 season.

Doskow graduated from the University of La Verne in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in communications. Johnny is a resident of Folsom, Calif., where he lives with his daughter, Emily.
