Hoss and Trashman: Family Bonded by Baseball

Brock and Max Stassi, brothers from Yuba City, each carved out pro baseball careers that brought them as players to the closest minor league team to their hometown. Brock, nicknamed “Trashman,” debuted with the Phillies before joining Sacramento in 2018, where he posted a .536 on-base percentage over 21 games. Max, known as “Hoss,” has followed in 2025 after a 10-year MLB run, homering as a River Cat on his first pitch back from injury.

Whisenhunt claims second PCL Pitcher of the Week honor

Carson Whisenhunt was named Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week for May 13–18 after delivering two dominant seven-inning starts against the Salt Lake Bees. The left-hander struck out nine in the opener and five in the finale, allowing no earned runs and just five total hits across 14 innings. Backed by his elite changeup, Whisenhunt improved to 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 23 strikeouts against Salt Lake this season, marking his second PCL weekly honor of 2025.

Carson Whisenhunt was named PCL Pitcher of the Week for April 15–20 after striking out nine over six shutout innings against the Salt Lake Bees, allowing just one hit and facing only two over the minimum. The left-hander’s dominant outing, powered by his elite changeup, marked his second quality start of the season and his first Triple-A weekly honor.

After going 5-for-11 with four extra-base hits, including home runs in the first two games of the season, Brett Auerbach was named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for March 28–30. He drove in a run in all three contests and posted an impressive 1.682 OPS, earning his first PCL weekly honor.
