MOOSIC, PA (August 2, 2022) –The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (51-49) were shut out by the Buffalo Bisons 4-0 on Tuesday evening to snap a six-game winning streak. MOOSIC, PA (August 2, 2022) –The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (51-49) were shut out by the Buffalo Bisons 4-0 on Tuesday evening to snap a six-game winning streak. RailRiders’ starter Mitch Spence allowed two runs over 4.2 innings with four strikeouts in his Triple-A debut.

Buffalo grabbed the lead in the second with an RBI double from Cullen Large against Spence. Large finished the night 2-for-4 at the plate. The Bisons then added to their advantage on a Spencer Horwitz run-scoring single to make it 2-0 in the third.

After five no-hit innings from Buffalo’s pitching staff, Oswald Peraza and Oswaldo Cabrera opened the sixth with a pair of infield singles. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre threatened in the sixth, seventh and eighth frames with at least two base-runners in each inning. However, SWB couldn’t break through with a big knock. The RailRiders finished the night 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

The Bisons padded their lead with one tally apiece in the eighth and ninth innings. Nathan Lukes brought home the first of the insurance runs with a single and Tanner Morris did the same to plate another in the ninth and put Buffalo ahead 4-0, which would be the final score.

Nick Allgeyer (3-4) earned his third win out of Buffalo’s bullpen. Spence (0-1) suffered the loss in his first outing with the RailRiders.

The two teams continue their six-game series on Wednesday with first pitch at 6:35 PM. Ryan Weber (3-2, 2.36) gets the ball for the RailRiders.
