TRENTON, N.J. (June 11, 2021) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders fell to the Buffalo Bisons 4-2 on Friday night at Trenton Thunder Ballpark.

Brody Koerner turned in a strong start for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, allowing only one run on three hits in 4.0 innings of work. The right-hander walked four and tied his season-high with five strikeouts.

The lone run allowed by Koerner (1-3) came in the bottom of the fourth, when Cullen Large lifted a sacrifice fly to score Logan Warmoth. Buffalo tacked on three runs in the sixth against Albert Abreu to extend its lead to 4-0.

In the top of the seventh, Trey Amburgey led off with a solo home run off Nick Allgeyer to get the RailRiders on the board, but they still trailed 4-1. SWB loaded the bases with two outs in the eighth, but did not score.

Amburgey finished 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI, and extended his season-long hitting streak to 16 games. Dating back to the end of the 2019 season, Amburgey has hits in 18 straight games and has reached base safely in 24 consecutive contests.

The RailRiders rallied in the top of the ninth against Bryan Baker, scoring a run on a Hoy Park sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to 4-2 and bring Mike Ford to the plate representing the tying run. However, Baker was able to retire Ford to end the game.

Park was 0-for-2 with two walks and an RBI, extending his on-base streak to 11 straight games. Ryan LaMarre was 1-for-3 and was hit by a pitch while playing seven innings in left field in his second game on an MLB rehab assignment.

The RailRiders continue their series with the Bisons on Saturday at Trenton Thunder Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with coverage on the RailRiders Baseball Network beginning at 6:15. RHP Nick Green (1-1, 5.66) takes the mound for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, while RHP T.J. Zeuch (1-3, 4.35) climbs the hill for Buffalo.
