With the start of the MiLB season delayed due to the unprecedented developments surrounding COVID-19, 'Cards at Home' will catch up with different Cardinals prospects to see how they're spending their time.

Cardinals right-handed relief pitcher Seth Elledge is set to enter his second full season and third season overall in the St. Louis Cardinals organization after being acquired from Seattle for RHP Sam Tuivailala on July 27, 2018. The 2017 4th-round pick started his Cardinals career right here in Springfield before getting the call to Triple-A Memphis on June 25, 2019 at just 23 years old.

Elledge posted a 3.78 ERA in 26 relief appearances in Springfield last season, striking out 43 in 33.1 innings. He went on to appear in 21 games for Memphis (3 GS), where he was 3-1 with a 4.72 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and had 32 strikeouts in 34.1 innings.

Like so many of us, he's making the best of his social distancing by enjoying time with family, staying active around the house, beating teammates in "MLB: The Show 20," and...taking in the "Tiger King."

How have you been passing the time at home?

"I’ve been passing time with my family! It has been good to spend some unexpected family time with my parents and sister."

Are there any movies or TV shows you've been hooked into binge watching?

"I’ve been binge watching The Office, as usual. 'Dinner Party' and 'Fun Run' are my favorites episodes...they have a good mix of great comedy and second-hand embarrassment. And Dwight and Jim for sure as far as characters go. Also, the new [Netflix] documentary, 'Tiger King.' That was wild from start to end. One of the craziest things I've seen in my entire life."

Any books you've been reading?

"I’ve been reading a couple books, but am currently reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis."

How about video games. Have you been playing any to stay entertained?

"I’ve been playing 'MLB: The Show' like it’s my job. I’ve probably spent too many hours playing the last couple weeks. I have not played with myself yet, but it is really cool to see all of my teammates on there. I was a little disappointed with my 54 overall rating. I played (Cardinals LHP) Evan Kruczynski and I beat him all three times we played...don’t ask him about it."

What's life been like having more time to spend at home?

"Staying at home more, I definitely have a more relaxed sleep schedule. I also don’t have to leave the house for food as much as we are stocked up."

Have there been any challenges with staying in shape? What have you been doing to stay conditioned?

"There are definitely challenges, but I have been doing a great job of staying active and in shape. I have been doing a lot of running and my usual mobility work. I have gotten creative with weightlifting as I am using stuff from around the house to get my work in like paint cans, bands...really anything I can find that is heavy."

Have you happened upon any new cooking skills? What have you focused on diet-wise?

"I have been focused on eating healthy during this time as that is something that is still super controllable. I have been sticking to my strength of breakfast foods as they are my favorite to eat and simplest to make."

What steps have you taken to stay safe and healthy? Is there a message you'd like to pass on to fans?

"I’ve been doing my part of staying at home and away from big crowds. My best advice is to stay patient through this crazy time and know that there will be baseball played in the near future. And wash your hands!"
