SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse Mets, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, announce their coaching and player development staff for the 2026 season.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse Mets, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, announce their coaching and player development staff for the 2026 season.

Manager Dick Scott returns for his fourth season at the helm of the Syracuse Mets after earning Minor League Baseball’s Sheldon “Chief” Bender Award for Player Development in 2025. The upcoming season marks Scott’s 13th year in the Mets organization, which includes previous roles as Minor League Field Coordinator (2011–12), Director of Player Development (2013–15), New York Mets Bench Coach (2016–17), and Coordinator of Coaching Development and Instruction (2021–22).

Pitching Coach A.J. Sager enters his second season in Syracuse and fourth overall in the Mets organization. The 2023 Mets Minor League Staff Member of the Year, Sager spent two seasons as the pitching coach for Double-A Binghamton after leading the pitching staff at High-A Brooklyn in 2021. Prior to joining the Mets, Sager spent 20 years coaching in the Detroit Tigers organization. He is joined by Assistant Pitching Coach Troy Miller, who moves up to Syracuse after serving with Single-A St. Lucie. Miller is in his second season as a coach after retiring as a Syracuse Met in 2024 following three seasons split between Syracuse and Double-A Binghamton.

Nate Irving advances from Double-A Binghamton and will serve as Hitting Coach in his second season in the Mets organization. Former Major League infielder John Nogowski makes his professional coaching debut as Bench Coach/Assistant Hitting Coach.

Head Athletic Trainer Austin Dayton returns for his third season with Syracuse and ninth in the Mets organization. Dayton previously served as an athletic trainer with Double-A Binghamton (2023), High-A Brooklyn (2022), Low-A St. Lucie (2021), Rookie-level Kingsport (2020), and the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Mets (2019), and was Head Athletic Trainer at the Mets’ Dominican Republic Academy in 2018. Joshua Jackson joins the staff as Assistant Athletic Trainer in his first season with Syracuse and third in the organization after serving as Associate Athletic Trainer in 2024 and Head Florida Complex League Athletic Trainer in 2025.

Strength and Conditioning Coach Drew Skrocki continues in his second season with Syracuse and sixth overall in the New York Mets system. Skrocki previously served as Performance Coach for Double-A Binghamton in 2024, Performance Coach for High-A Brooklyn in 2022 and 2023, and Performance Coach Associate at the Mets’ Florida Complex in St. Lucie in 2021. He is joined by Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Max Aronwold, who begins his first season with the Mets after interning in the Cincinnati Reds organization in 2025.

Pedro John joins the Mets as Baseball Technology and Video Associate after spending the past three seasons in the Twins, Mariners, and Phillies organizations.

Season Tickets and Flex Plans for the 2026 Syracuse Mets season are on sale now. Tickets may be purchased at the NBT Bank Stadium Ticket Office, by phone at 315-474-7833 during regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.), or online at SyracuseMets.com.

Opening Day for the Syracuse Mets is scheduled for March 27 on the road at Worcester. The Home Opener at NBT Bank Stadium is set for March 31 against the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers) at 4:05 p.m.
