Did you know that Toledo had three baseball teams that were part of the Negro National League? The first team was the 1923 Toledo Tigers. To celebrate the 100^th anniversary of this team, we’re hosting a special Toledo Tigers Night on Saturday, September 16.

This celebration is also part of MiLB’s Black community-focused outreach platform The Nine. Named after Jackie Robinson’s number while with the Triple-A Montreal Royals, The Nine honors the historic impact of Black baseball pioneers, provides new opportunities for youth participation, and embraces the millions of passionate fans in MiLB communities nationwide.
