Luis Marte's three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Round Rock Express a 5-3 win over the New Orleans Baby Cakes on Tuesday night.
The Baby Cakes had pushed in front on Moisés Sierra's RBI single in the top of the inning, but Ronald Guzman opened the bottom half with a single and Daniel Schlereth (0-1) issued a one-out walk to Jason Martinson before Marte crushed an 0-2 offering onto the Dell Diamond berm in left-center field.
It was the sixth walk-off defeat of the season for the Baby Cakes, who fell to 2-5 in extra innings. New Orleans has lost three straight on the heels of winning eight out of 10 games.
The 'Cakes were limited to one run and two hits through six innings by Express starter Tyler Wagner, plating their lone run in the third on a Steve Lombardozzi single to cash in Christian Colón's leadoff double.
Jared Hoying homered in the fifth to put Round Rock in front 2-1, but Cal Towey tripled in the seventh and scored the tying run on a Brandon Barnes single.
The game remained deadlocked into extra innings, when the 'Cakes strung together three singles in the 10th against Preston Claiborne (3-0), with Sierra delivering his team-leading 53rd RBI to put New Orleans ahead.
Baby Cakes starter Odrisamer Despaigne held the Express to two runs and two hits in six innings while starting in place of the promoted Adam Conley.
New Orleans continues its road trip against the Express on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
