ROUND ROCK, Texas-The Reno Aces managed just four hits en route to a 4-0 loss to the Round Rock Express in the first game of the series on Monday night at The Dell Diamond.

Only one of the Aces hits came later than the third inning, as the Aces suffered their first regular season shutout since August 24 of last season. Reno managed to load the bases with two outs in the bottom of the ninth on a single and a pair of walks, but the threat ended when Taylor Harbin struck out to end the game. The single came off the bat of catcher Tuffy Gosewisch, who extended his hitting streak to a season-high nine games.

RHP Chase Anderson was charged with the loss, though he delivered a solid outing for Reno. Anderson gave up four earned runs on six hits through 7.0 innings, while striking out seven. He gave up two home runs on the night, one each to Alex Buchholz and Jim Adduci.

RHP Arlett Mavare threw 3.1 excellent innings of relief to earn his first win, after Round Rock starter Jake Brigham exited the game following a comebacker off his right leg. Mavare did not give up a hit in his outing, while striking out three and walking one. Yoshinori Tateyama entered the game in the ninth to face Harbin, and was credited with a save for his effort.

The series continues on Tuesday night in Round Rock. LHP Tyler Skaggs (3-5, 5.93 ERA) will get the nod for Reno, while the Express will counter with a yet to be named starter. First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m. PT at The Dell Diamond.

Reno returns home on May 24 for a Memorial Day Weekend series against the Tacoma Rainiers. Tickets are on sale for the upcoming series, and all Aces home games, at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
