Aces Drop Series Finale, 7-3

RENO, Nev.-Kila Ka'aihue went 4-for-4 at the plate with two RBI, but the Aces fell 7-3 in the series finale against the Sacramento River Cats on Monday night at Aces Ballpark.

RHP Randall Delgado threw 3.0 hitless innings to begin the game, recording three strikeouts in the stretch.

Reno jumped on the board with two outs in the bottom of the third. Didi Gregorius and Chris Owings had back to back singles, and were driven in by a two RBI double off the bat of Ka'aihue.

Sacramento tangled the score at two in the top of the next frame, on a two-run shot by Michael Choice.

The River Cats went on to score five more runs in the final three innings, to take a 7-2 advantage. Reno plated a run in the bottom of the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Evan Frey, but the threat stopped there.

LHP Eury De La Rosa, who came on in relief of Delgado, was charged with the loss. He gave up an earned run on one hit.

Sacramento starter Jesse Chavez earned his first win of the season. He went 7.0 innings and gave up two earned runs on six hits. Chavez recorded nine strikeouts in the win.

The Aces will face the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in a four game series beginning Tuesday night. The two clubs split a series to begin the 2013 season at Security Service Field in Colorado Springs. RHP Chase Anderson (0-2, 5.56 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while the Sky Sox will counter with LHP Christian Friedrich (0-0, 2.35 ERA). First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. PT. Tuesday is highlighted by 2-for-$22 Tuesday, and fans can buy a special package for two hot dogs, two sodas and two tickets for only $22.
