RENO, Nev.-The Reno Aces hosted the first-ever Trick or Suite event at Aces Ballpark last night, welcoming 2,530 fans, the club announced today.

Fans donated 1,127 pounds of canned and boxed foods at the gates, which was all donated to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. The food, which was valued at $1,904.63 according to the Food Bank, will be used to feed the needy in the Northern Nevada community.

In addition, over $600 was raised to be donated to the winning suites in the decorating contest. New2U Computers/Disability Resources Inc. took home first place, and half of the night's proceeds will be donated to their organization. Disability Resources Inc. Sun Valley Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth League and Optim (benefiting the Reno Aces Foundation) placed second and third, respectively, and will each get a share of the remaining proceeds.

"The Aces would like to thank all of the nonprofits and businesses who helped make Trick or Suite a success, as well as everyone who attended," said Eric Edelstein, Aces Chief Operating Officer. "We were blown away with the response in our first year of this event, and look forward to making it an annual tradition."

Other participating organizations included JNS Sports, Inc., Down Syndrome Network of Northern Nevada, Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada, UPS (benefitting the United Way) and United Federal Credit Union (benefiting Sparks Middle School).

The Aces will continue their charitable efforts during the offseason, with the Swings for Sparks event on Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fans are invited to come to Aces Ballpark to take swings on the field off a pitching machine for a suggested minimum donation of $1 per pitch or 25 pitches for $20.
