TUCSON, Ariz.-Alfredo Marte singled through the hole at shortstop on Thursday night to break up the shutout bid and put the Aces ahead 2-1 over the Tucson Padres in the series finale at Kino Stadium.

The Aces entered the ninth inning down 1-0 with only four hits on the night. Marte came to the plate with bases loaded and with two outs, and singled to late two runs and give the Aces the lead.

Aces batters combined for just five hits on the night, with leadoff batter Brad Snyder going 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Reno starter Charles Brewer allowed just one run on six hits in 7.0 innings pitched, while striking out seven. Despite his stellar performance, he was on the hook for the loss until Marte pushed Reno ahead.

Joe Paterson was credited with his 25th Minor League win, after throwing a shutout eighth frame. David Hernandez came on in the ninth to seal the victory, and was credited with his second save for Reno.

Tomorrow, the Aces will travel to Salt Lake for their final series of the season.
