Aces Win Series Against Fresno

Reno, Nev.-The Reno Aces claimed their second series win of the season on Friday night, with a 12-7 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies at Aces Ballpark.  

The dramatic contest saw four lead changes, with each squad posting a four runs in the sixth. Aces batters combined for ten hits, including homers off the bats of Chris Owings and Taylor Harbin.

D-backs closer J.J. Putz, in his second game of a Major League Rehabilitation Assignment with the Aces, threw a scoreless first frame to start the game, allowing a walk but striking out three. Nate Adcock was touched up for seven runs on nine hits in his four inning home debut for Reno.

At the plate for Reno, Tony Campana went 3-for-5 with a season-high four runs scored and four RBI. Owings went 2-for4 with a run scored and three RBI.

D-backs second baseman Aaron Hill also continued his rehab assignment, going 1-for-4 at the plate with a pair of RBI and runs scored.

The Reno pitchers combined to shutout the Grizzlies through the final four innings of the game, allowing just four hits.

The Aces will begin a four-game set against the Tucson Padres on Saturday night. RHP Mike Bolsinger (1-2, 5.17 ERA) will get the nod for Reno, while the Padres will counter with RHP Anthony Bass (1-1, 9.18 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. and 2,000 lucky fans in attendance will receive the Archie All-Star Garden Gnome Giveaway presented by KOLO 8 News Now.
