TACOMA, Wash.-The Aces posted a four-run first inning on Thursday night, en route to a 6-1 victory in the series opener over the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium.

The first six Reno batters at the plate reached base, including a two-RBI double by Mike Jacobs and an RBI double by Brad Snyder off Tacoma starter Brandon Maurer.

After hitting Alfredo Marte with a pitch, Maurer was removed from the game with what was later announced as stomach issues. His replacement, Forrest Snow, recorded a quick first out, before issuing a bases loaded walk to Tyler Bortnick to bring Reno's run total to four.

Reno managed just four hits across the final eight frames, including a solo homer off the bat of Matt Davidson in the second. Davidson will participate in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Sunday, before participating in the 2013 IGT Home Run Derby at Aces Ballpark on Monday night. The longball was Davidson's 14th of the season.

Davidson and Tony Campana each recorded a multi-hit game for Reno.

Aces starter Mark Serrano was stellar, giving up just one run on four hits through 7.0 innings. He earned the win, marking his first victory at the Triple-A level. Relievers Kevin Munson and Evan Marshall threw two shuout frames to end the game.

The series continues Friday night at Cheney Stadium. RHP Charles Brewer (3-7, 5.38 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while the Rainiers will counter with RHP Chance Ruffin (0-0, No ERA). First pitch is slated for 7 p.m. PT and all of the action can be heard live on KPLY 630 AM.
