RENO, Nev.- Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Cody Ross is scheduled to join the Reno Aces on Friday night to continue his Major League Rehabilitation Assignment, the organization announced today.

Ross suffered a left calf strain during Spring Training, and was placed on the D-backs 15-day Disabled List. After playing in six games with High-A Visalia to begin the season, Ross is set to join the Aces on Friday night for the home opener at Aces Ballpark.

The 32-year-old New Mexico native was a member of the 2010 San Francisco Giants World Series Champion team. The Detroit Tigers fourth-round selection in the 1999 draft, Ross is a .262 career Major League hitter 106 home runs and 422 RBI.

After spending 2012 with the Boston Red Sox, Ross was signed by the D-backs as a free agent in December.

D-backs infielder Didi Gregorius will also be continuing his Major League Rehab Assignment with the Aces. Gregorius was placed on the D-backs 15-day Disabled List with a right elbow strain, and has gone 3-for-12 in three games as the designated hitter for Reno.

Only a few hundred reserved seats remain for tonight's Aces home opener, so fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Reno native Whitney Myer will be singing the National Anthem, and new Wolf Pack Head Football Coach Brian Polian will throw out the first pitch. The night will be highlighted by a magnet schedule giveaway for 9,000 lucky fans, as well as the first Saint Mary's Fireworks Friday presented by KRNV News 4 with fireworks immediately following the game.

First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. tonight, as the Aces take on the Sacramento River Cats, and gates will open at 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the large crowds. Tickets are on sale for Opening Weekend at Aces Ballpark, and all Aces home games, at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
