Summary
The RubberDucks jumped out to an early lead 2-0 over the Altoona Curve in the second inning when Wilson Garcia led off with a double and came around to score on a Mitch Longo RBI single. Longo then stole second base and scored on Logan Ice's single to right field. Altoona answered back in the fourth inning with a two-run double from Hunter Owen to tie the score at 2. That tie lasted until Logan Hill's eighth inning RBI double, making the score 3-2 in favor of the Curve.

Turning Point
The RubberDucks and Curve were knotted at two until the top of the eighth inning when Logan Hill lined a double into the right-centerfield gap, scoring Bralin Jackson for Altoona. That RBI double proved to be the difference in the game as the RubberDucks were unable to push across any runs in the late innings despite a lead-off double from Tyler Krieger in the eighth.
Mound Presence
Both starting pitchers for today's Sunday matinee were solid for the RubberDucks and Curve, with Zach Plesac only surrendering two runs on five hits through six innings of work for Akron. Plesac worked efficiently totaling 53 strikes on 81 pitches for the RubberDucks, keeping the Curve off the scoreboard until the fourth inning. This game came down to each team's bullpen as the RubberDucks allowed one run in relief and the Curve quieted the Akron bats, only surrendering one hit over four innings.
Duck Tales
The Ducks couldn't quite take advantage of their opportunities with runners in scoring position in the sixth and eighth innings. Akron totaled eight hits but left seven runners on base and were 2-for-8 with runners in scoring position. Runs have been hard to come by in the early going of the season as the RubberDucks have a team batting average of .202, but Akron pitching has kept them in games despite the team's 0-4 record.
Notebook
The RubberDucks have now lost four in a row which is their longest losing streak since August of last season past three… Akron went 10-13 last season against the Altoona Curve, going 7-6 in games against Altoona at Canal Park…… This is the first time the club has lost the first four games of the season since 1997…  Time of game: 2:34… Attendance: 4,838.
