ERIE, Pa. - Jose Azocar swatted a go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth inning for the Erie SeaWolves to knock off the Altoona Curve, 6-5, at UMPC Park on Sunday.
In the last game between the two clubs in Erie, the SeaWolves (46-42, 15-7) led the Curve (49-40, 14-8) by two runs twice in the early innings before Altoona held a one-run lead following a three-run sixth.

Altoona claimed their lone lead of the day, 5-4, on a go-ahead single by Robbie Glendinning , which was a hard-hit line drive that deflected off the mitt of Erie second baseman Kody Eaves. Glendinning's clutch hit came moments after the Curve scored twice to tie the contest, 4-4, on a single to center from Bligh Madris . The single with the bases loaded scored one but Azocar bobbled the ball to allow a second run to score.
In the eighth, Isaac Paredes started the inning with a walk before Azocar made up for his error with the game-winning hit in the eighth off Angel German (Loss, 2-3).
Erie scored first with a pair in the opening inning against Domingo Robles . Paredes singled in Derek Hill, who led off the first with a double, before Daniel Pinero doubled around Paredes.
Altoona tied the game at 2-2 in the third when Jared Oliva hit a two-run homer inside the right field foul pole. However, Frank Schwindel launched a two-run blast of his own in the bottom of the inning for Erie.

Robles did not allow another hit after Schwindel's homer and retired 11 of his last 12 batters to complete six innings. He scattered seven hits and struck out five and departed as the pitcher of record with the Curve on top.
Anthony Castro went the first five for the SeaWolves and struck out nine. Trent Szkutnik and Zac Houston (Win, 3-1) worked four scoreless innings of relief to close the game after Will Vest could not retire any of the five batters he faced in the sixth as the first man out of the bullpen.
Curve hitters walked a season-high 10 times, including three by Logan Hill . Chris Sharpe and Madris each recorded two hits in the loss.
