RICHMOND, Va. - Alex McRae allowed one run over seven innings but the Altoona Curve bats were held quiet in a 3-1 loss to the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Monday night at The Diamond.
The Curve (17-11) were held to just four hits in the game, two in the first inning and two in the eighth. The Flying Squirrels (12-17) scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to break a 1-1 tie and held off the Curve in the ninth.
McRae worked seven innings for the second straight start and allowed one run on six hits, lowering his season ERA to 1.96.
