Asheville Walks Off in the 9th

Asheville, NC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, lost 6-5 on Friday night to the Asheville Tourist.

For the first half of the ballgame, the Tourist were in control. They took a 5-1 lead through six innings. The only GreenJackets run in that span, came when Logan Baldwin walked with the bases loaded to score Jacob Gonzalez.
In the top of the seventh the comeback was on. With two outs and runners on first and third base, Heliot Ramos double to left center field to score two runs. In the next at bat, Garcia double to left field to score Ramos and cut the deficit to just one.
Then in the eighth inning, the GreenJackets came all the way back. Ryan Kirby doubled to center field to score Manuel Geraldo to tie the game at five.
After Augusta was shutout in the top of the ninth, Asheville walked off. A single with the bases loaded and two-outs by Ramon Marcelino won the ball game for the Tourist. Asheville won 6-5 and took game one of the series.
First pitch in game two will be tomorrow at 6:05 pm.
