From Races to Cannonballs, Last Saturday at SRP Park Is One For The Books!

Last Saturday at SRP Park in Inaugural Season You Won't Want TO Miss It

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, will be playing game two of their series with the Columbia Fireflies at 6:05 pm on Saturday, September 1st. The GreenJackets will be hosting some heart-pumping events before the first pitch is even thrown!


On Saturday morning, the AU Run for the GreenJackets 5k will be happening for the first time at SRP Park! The race starts at 7:30 am. This exciting 5k will take runners around parts of the Greenway and will finish inside SRP Park! A $37 entry fee gets you a spot in the race, a GreenJackets gift, and a general admission ticket to the game on Saturday. The event is open to runners, walkers, strollers and our 4-legged friends! NEW for 2018, runners will have chip timing for the race. Parking will be in the Green Lot parking deck on Railroad Ave., which is near the start and finish line. After the game, the Guinness World Record holding Human Cannonball will be blasting off for the first time at SRP Park. This death-defying act will be something that fans will not want to miss out on! David "The Bullet" Smith Jr. is the highest-flying Human Cannonball in the world today! He holds five Guinness World Records, including the highest cannon shot and the farthest cannon shot, breaking his own World Record three times! This is the first time that the Human Cannonball has made an appearance at a baseball venue in the CSRA.


The GreenJackets will also be having the annual Mystery Ball and Bobblehead Night, which benefits the Children's Hospital of Georgia! The GreenJackets have collected autographed baseballs and signature bobbleheads from different MLB and MiLB teams across the country!

After the game, kids 12 and under will get to run the bases like the GreenJackets presented by Moe's Southwest Grill!


The Inaugural Season at SRP Park is winding down with only 4 more chances to enjoy GreenJackets baseball, capped off with a Labor Day Luau to celebrate the official end of summer.
