North Augusta, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, won 11-2 against the Kannapolis Intimidators on Friday night. In the eighth inning, both benches and bullpens cleared after Malique Ziegler got hit by a pitch from Andrew Perez.
The GreenJackets got out to an early lead in the first inning by putting up three runs on the Intimidators. Augusta would be in full control by the fourth inning, as they were able to put up four more runs and take a 7-0 lead. They would go on to add four more runs over the final three innings to put 11 runs on the Intimidators.
Heliot Ramos led the way for the GreenJackets with a 3-5 night with three RBIs. Manuel Geraldo went 2-5 with one RBI and Malique Ziegler went 2-2 with three runs scored.
On the mound for the GreenJackets, Norwith Gudino shined for Augusta going 6 2/3 innings scoreless innings. He only gave up four hits, while striking out seven Intimidators.
The GreenJackets will be back in action tomorrow at 6:05 pm against Kannapolis Intimidators at SRP Park.
