Hall Walk-Off Single Gives BlueClaws 3-2 Win

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Darick Hall hit an RBI single off the base of the right field wall to score Mickey Moniak with the game-winning run as the BlueClaws escaped with a 3-2, 10-inning win over Greensboro on Monday night at FirstEnergy Park.
Moniak had tripled with two out and nobody on, setting up Hall's single, the third BlueClaws walk-off win of the season.
Lakewood (25-19) has now won three in a row while Greensboro falls to 25-18. The BlueClaws are now within a half-game of Greensboro for second place, 1.5 games behind first-place Hagerstown.
Ismael Cabrera (4-2) earned the win with three scoreless innings of relief. Ryley MacEachern (2-2) took the loss.
The BlueClaws jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on Mickey Moniak's first home run of the season. For Moniak, the first overall pick in last year's draft, it was the second home run of his professional career.
Greensboro tied the game on Justin Twine's RBI triple in the fifth, which was the first hit allowed by starter Nick Fanti.
Raul Rivas, however, answered in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single to give the BlueClaws a 2-1 lead off Jordan Holloway.
Holloway, making his first start against Lakewood, allowed two runs in five innings.
Lakewood starter Nick Fanti gave up one run in six innings, tying his career high with nine strikeouts.
With the BlueClaws up 2-1, Greensboro got a run in the eighth on an Ismael Cabrera wild pitch to tie the game. The run was charged to Jonathan Hennigan, who put Luis Pintor on base with a walk to start the eighth inning.
Rivas, Moniak, and Edgar Cabral all had two hits in the win for the BlueClaws.
The BlueClaws and Grasshoppers continue their series on Tuesday at 6:35 pm. LHP JoJo Romero (2-1) starts for Lakewood opposite RHP Dustin Beggs (3-3).
