COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions | UPDATED 3/31/20
Minor Leauge Baseball announced last week that it was delaying the start of the 2020 regular season.
We would like to take the time to thank you for your continued support and loyalty to the Cedar Rapids Kernels as we navigate uncharted territory. Our commitment to you and our responsibility to keep our fans safe has never been stronger, as we face COVID-19 in the weeks ahead.
We are continuously monitoring the ever-changing circumstances surrounding the coronavirus. We promise to go above and beyond to keep our fans, players, coaches, staff, and employees safe when games startup at the ballpark. We hope that you all are keeping yourselves safe and that we can be back together at the ballpark soon.
This situation is new to everyone and we have questions just like you all do. Here are a few key things fans have been asking that we do have the answers to:
WHAT IS THE PLAN?
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have been meeting regularly to discuss the cleaning process and what needs to be prioritized during these times.
All of our concessions stands have always exceeded the standards set by Public Health. This season, we will be extending staff training to include even more instruction and make sure our standards are clear and met every single day.
Veterans Memorial Stadium will be closed to the public until April 30, 2020.
WHAT ABOUT TICKETS?
TICKETS ON SALE NOW
If you have already purchased tickets for games that are not played, they will have the same exchange policy as a rainout. You will be able to exchange tickets from unplayed games for a new game at any time during the regular season. New tickets are subject to availability.
WHEN IS OPENING DAY?
As of right now, Opening Day is still uncertain. Please continue to check our website as well as our social media pages to stay up to date. We can't wait to see everyone out at the ballpark this summer when the season kicks off! Please rest assured that the stadium will be completely cleaned, set up, and ready when games begin.

A Letter to Our Fans
The City of Cedar Rapids has recommended social distancing, meaning that gatherings of 10 or more people be prohibited to curb the spread of the virus. With the health and well-being of our staff, community and fans in mind we have decided that Veterans Memorial Stadium will be closed to the public until April 30, 2020.

This is the best place to stay up to date on all things related to 2020 Opening Day, action plans, ticket policies, and more. We will be keeping this page updated as more information comes our way. Thanks again for sticking with us and supporting the home team.
We cannot wait for the 2020 season to begin!
