COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions | UPDATED 6/4/20

Official Statement 5/27
From Scott Wilson, General Manager

On May 26th Governor Reynolds relaxed some restrictions on stadiums and venues. This was a step in the right direction for many venues, but the Kernels Season is driven by Major League Baseball and those discussions are still in progress. Whether or not the Kernels will play this year has not been decided, and as soon as we know anything we will pass that information on to our fans.

As a small business who counts on games to make our income, we appreciate the support we have received for our Hot Corner Carry-Out orders and the souvenir store sales. We hope to have more information soon to pass along to our fans and the community.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have been meeting regularly to discuss the cleaning process and what needs to be prioritized during these times.

We will be extending staff training to include even more instruction and make sure our standards are clear and met every single day.

The Kernels Front Offices will be closed to the public until further notice. The Bimm Ridder Diamond Shop is open now!

If you have already purchased tickets for games that are not played, they will have the same exchange policy as a rainout. You will be able to exchange tickets from unplayed games for a new game at any time during the regular season in 2021. New tickets are subject to availability.

Group outing tickets are not exchangeable - please check with your group leader to see when your group outing will be re-scheduled.

We have always been dedicated to improving the lives of those in Northeast Iowa and will continue to make that a top priority. A Letter to Our Fans

The City of Cedar Rapids has recommended social distancing, meaning that gatherings of 10 or more people be prohibited to curb the spread of the virus. With the health and well-being of our staff, community and fans in mind we have decided that the Kernels Front Offices will be closed to the public until further notice.
