NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (April 18, 2024) – The Frisco RoughRiders were held to just two hits in 6-1 defeat against the Arkansas Travelers on Thursday night from Dickey-Stephens Park.

Box Score

The Riders (7-5) fell behind in the first inning when Arkansas (8-4) first baseman Tyler Locklear hammered a three-run home run against Kohl Drake (0-1). The Travelers and Locklear added on in the second with a bases-loaded walk to make it 4-0.

Drake, who grew up in Sachse, Texas made his Double-A debut on Thursday, allowing four runs over his 1.1 innings.

In the fifth, Cooper Johnson blasted a solo home run against Reid VanScoter (1-0) for the only run of the game for Frisco. VanScoter earned the win with his six strong innings.

The Travelers added on in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run single by Kaden Polcovich, boosting the lead to 6-1, and that was all the Arkansas pitching staff needed.

Frisco had bright spots out of the bullpen with Anthony Hoopii-Tuionetoa, Andy Rodriguez and Triston Polley all throwing scoreless outings.

Kellen Strahm's ninth inning single was the only other hit for Frisco.

The RoughRiders and Travelers will meet for game four of the six-game set at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, April 19th. The RoughRiders are slated to have RHP Dane Acker (0-0, 1.04) start against LHP Danny Wirchansky (1-1, 5.00) for the Travelers.
