Augusta, GA-The series opener with the GreenJackets and the Fireflies has been suspended in the middle of the seventh inning due to the lights going out at Lake Olmstead Stadium Tuesday night and will be completed on July 5. Fans who attended the game will be able to exchange their ticket to any remaining game in the 2017 season with the exception of the game on September 4.
The GreenJackets began the bottom of the first with four consecutive singles on their way to scoring five runs in the inning. The Fireflies responded with run in the second, fourth, and sixth to trim the lead to 5-3 before the lights went out during the seventh inning stretch.
The completion of Tuesday's game will begin at 5:30pm with the gates opening at 5:00pm. Game two of the series with the Fireflies will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. It is Red, White, and Brews Night where fans who wear red, white, and blue will receive a $5 General Admission Ticket. It is also Strike Out Stroke Night where fans can learn about the signs of strokes and how to prevent them, and Watering Hole Wednesday, and Baseball Bingo presented by Comfort Keepers, and Silver Jackets Wednesday presented by AARP, Brandon Wilde, Comfort Keepers, and Fleet Feet Sports.
Garrett Williams (2-1, 2.95) will start on the mound for the GreenJackets in game two against Gabriel Llanes (4-5, 3.13) for the Fireflies.
