Jordan Blaze hits two home runs in debut at Fluor Field

The Greenville Drive (10-24, 36-64) welcomed the Hickory Crawdads (15-21, 53-49) to Fluor Field on Monday for a six game series, with the Drive coming out on top in game one 6-5. Newcomer and sixth ranked Red Sox prospect Blaze Jordan showed Greenville why he’s top in the farm system

The Greenville Drive (10-24, 36-64) welcomed the Hickory Crawdads (15-21, 53-49) to Fluor Field on Monday for a six game series, with the Drive coming out on top in game one 6-5.

Newcomer and sixth ranked Red Sox prospect Blaze Jordan showed Greenville why he’s top in the farm system going 3-4 with two home runs.

Hickory struck first with a home run in the first by Angel Aponte to take a 1-0 lead

The Drive came back with a big 4th inning to take a 4-1 lead on RBI singles by Niko Kavadas and Jaxx Groshans plus a solo home run from Blaze Jordan.

The game went back and forth in the sixth with the Crawdads adding a run on an RBI double from Frainyer Chavez.

The Drive responded in the bottom of the frame with two more runs on Jordan’s 2nd home run of the night and an RBI double from Nick Yorke.

The Crawdads added two more runs in the top of the 7th, but it wasn’t enough as the Drive hung on for the 6-5 win.

Greenville relief pitcher Jacob Webb (1-0, 4.15) closed out the game with no hits and no runs to give the Drive the win and his third save of the year. Starting Drive pitcher Shane Drohan (5-7, 4.20) secured the win while Hickory's RHP Nick Krauth (3-7, 5.85) absorbed the loss.
