Spring in Greenville means baseball is back, and the Greenville Drive, the South Atlantic League Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, is ready to welcome the best fans in baseball back to award-winning Fluor Field for another season of family fun, entertainment, and season-long memories. The season-long Spring & Summer of fun begins at Fluor Field on Tuesday April 11.

Over the past eight months, the Drive organization has been hard at work developing the Fluor Field Entertainment District as well as adding several new ballpark facility and fan experience upgrades, with fans getting their first chance to experience these new amenities on Opening Night.

“We’re ready, thrilled and excited for the 2023 Drive season to get underway at Fluor Field,” said Drive General Manager Eric Jarinko. “Drive Baseball in Downtown Greenville is our favorite community tradition and the fan experience at Fluor Field this season will be our best yet. We can’t wait for the community to join us at the ballpark for Opening Week presented by TD Bank and all season long.”

Tuesday, April 11 - Opening Day - 7:05 p.m.

The 2023 Drive season kicks off on April 11 with first pitch between the Drive and the Asheville Tourists set for 7:05 p.m. Ballpark gates open at 6 p.m. The Jazz Antagonists will provide the music to welcome fans back to Fluor Field outside the Main St gates along with balloon artists, magicians, face painters, plus Calvin Blassingame, a local caricature artist.

Prior to first pitch, the Drive and long-time partner, Milliken & Company will unveil “Milliken Plaza” directly inside the District 356 entrance to the stadium with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Formerly Heritage Plaza, Milliken Plaza is the most significant, interactive branded fan experience to come to Fluor Field in years and includes various baseball-related Milliken product displays, a rotating showcase of notable Milliken Associates and Drive alumni, a spotlight area on recycling & sustainability, plus an all-new Milliken Digital First Pitch Experience where fans can mimic throwing a baseball towards a digital screen and capture speed, distance, and other exciting analytical data.

Additional featured hospitality areas across the ballpark have also been updated and transformed, most notably the Champions Club and the Double Suite hospitality areas along the suite concourse. Now branded the AFL Champions Club, the Drive are excited to expand its already best-in-class partnership with AFL to include naming rights associated with the Champions Club, the highest end hospitality area at Fluor Field. A global leader in fiber optics & communication solutions that connects people and the communities they serve, the AFL brand, product, and community impact story will be brought to life across all aspects of the Champions Club space.

The Double Suite at Fluor Field has also received a facelift as long-time Drive partner Budweiser is now using this space to tell the story of Budweiser’s iconic association with baseball and the Boston Red Sox. Guests will notice wall-to-wall updated creative graphics and other storytelling features that bring to life Budweiser’s significant role in the history of baseball – in the Upstate and throughout the country.

Fans will also notice several additional ballpark enhancements including an expanded 500 Club that includes a new full-service kitchen and extended terrace space overlooking District 356. The outfield wall at Fluor Field has also been aesthetically transformed with the addition of padding and a reconfigured creative look for all outfield wall signage.

And finally, fans should be on the lookout for a new beer offering at Fluor Field this season – Rallyville Lager. Brewed in partnership with New Realm Brewery, Rallyville Lager, the official beer of the Greenville Drive, is a beer that embodies and represents the spirit of our community. A lager rich in flavor while still smooth, refreshing, and easy to drink, Rallyville Lager is a beer for the entire community to enjoy. We can’t wait for Drive fans to get their first taste!

In addition to these notable updates and enhancements, the fun and excitement at Fluor Field will continue all week long as the Drive will feature a variety of theme nights, entertainment offerings, community events, giveaways, and more all throughout Opening Week for 2023.
