'Gades fall to Jersey Shore for a fifth time this week

Wappingers Falls, NY – The Hudson Valley Renegades dropped the final game of the series against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws 10-4 on Sunday afternoon at Heritage Financial Park.

Jersey Shore scored three runs in the second inning and four in the third to take an early 7-0 lead.

Hudson Valley trailed 8-0 going into the bottom of the fourth inning.

Renegades pitching walked seven BlueClaws and only had one three-up, three-down inning.

Hudson Valley hitters grabbed two hits after the fourth inning. However, two Renegades got hit by a pitch and five drew walks to strand six batters from the fifth inning on.

Eight of nine Renegades batters got on base. Only five Renegades got hits.

BlueClaws batters had multiple hits in four of the nine innings.

Jersey Shore struck out 12 Renegades, bringing their series total to 65 batters.

Hudson Valley fell to 7-11 overall against Jersey Shore, 5-7 at Heritage Financial Park, and 1-5 in the second half.

LHP Allen Facundo (4.2 IP, 8 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 4 BB, 7 K, 1 HR) allowed a season and career-high in hits and runs allowed.

Facundo has walked four or more batters in four of his last five starts.

Facundo has not pitched into the fifth inning since 7/2 vs. Wilmington.

Facundo has struck out five or more batters nine times this season.

SS Roderick Arias (2-for-4, 2B, R, K, HBP) grabbed a double in each of the final three games of the series.

After starting the series 0-for-8 with 7 K, Arias finished the series 7-for-15 (.467/.500/.667) with a 1.167 OPS, 3 2B, 2 R, 4 K.

Arias has gotten on base in 42 of his last 46 games.

Since 6/5, Arias is slashing .349/.415/.616 with a 1.031 OPS, 33 R, 12 2B, 3B, 10 HR, 40 RBI, 20 BB, and 42 K.

1B Kyle West (0-for-6, BB, 3 K) saw his five game on-base streak come to an end.

LF Robbie Burnett (2-for-4, 2B, 2 K) grabbed his second multi-hit performance in the row.

Burnett grabbed his fourth multi-RBI performance since the All-Star break.

CF Willy Montero (1-for-4, 2B, R, RBI) ripped his first High-A extra-base hit.

Montero finished the series with a hit in each of the last two games.

2B Enmanuel Tejeda (1-for-4, R, 2 K, HBP) got on base in every game this series.

Tejeda slashed .167/.375/.167 with 4 R, 4 BB, 5 K, and 1-for-1 SB.

RHP Brandon Decker (1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K) has not allowed a run to score in four of his last five outings.
