DURHAM, N.C. -Jake Hager ripped a two-run triple during a four-run second inning to boost the Durham Bulls to a 5-1 victory over the Indianapolis Indians Tuesday night at the DBAP. Futures Game MVP Brent Honeywell Jr. hurled five frames for his first win in three starts against the Tribe this season.

The Bulls (58-37) benefited from Indy second-guessing itself defensively in the second, scoring four times against Drew Hutchison, despite recording just two hits in the inning.
Taylor Featherston started the second with a single and beat a force attempt on a Casey Gillaspie ground ball to second. A wild pitch by Hutchison advanced both runners 90 feet, and Featherston then slid ahead of an Eric Wood throw to the plate on a grounder by Mike Marjama for the game's first tally. Two batters later, Hager laced his second triple of the season to right-center, pushing Durham's lead to three. Johnny Field capped the inning with an RBI groundout.
Indianapolis (53-41) had no answer against Honeywell, with Elias Díaz, Eury Pérez and Joey Terdoslavich spraying singles in separate innings.
A sacrifice fly by Marjama in the sixth extended Durham's advantage to five, but Indy drew four walks against Chih-Wei Hu in the top of the seventh to get on the board. The Tribe had a chance to pull even with the bases loaded and two outs, but Jordan Luplow flied out to left.
Honeywell (9-7) earned the win while Hutchison (5-5) suffered the loss. He allowed five runs on six hits over six innings.
The Indians and Bulls cap their season series against one another Wednesday night. The Tribe will send right-hander Nick Kingham (3-5, 4.23) to the mound, opposite Bulls righty Yonny Chirinos (9-3, 2.99). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET, and the broadcast can be heard on Fox Sports 97.5 or AM 1260.
