LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. - Indianapolis scored 10 runs in the seventh and eighth innings combined to storm past the Gwinnett Braves, 10-2, Sunday afternoon at Coolray Field. The Tribe sent 10 batters to the plate in the seventh, and Danny Ortiz launched Indy's first grand slam of the season in the eighth as Indy salvaged a four-game series split.

In danger of losing their grip on first place in the International League West Division, the Indians (55-45) displayed late resiliency after leaving seven runners on base through the first five innings.
Erich Weiss began the seventh-inning outburst with a leadoff walk against southpaw A.J. Minter. After Eury Pérez reached safely on a fielding error by Carlos Franco at first base, Christopher Bostick sacrificed both runners up 90 feet. Kevin Newman followed with a two-run single up the middle to tie the game. Three batters later, Elias Díaz greeted Caleb Dirks with a two-run knock through the left side of the infield, giving Indy a 4-2 advantage.
Indianapolis added two more runs on a dropped fly ball and RBI single by Phil Gosselin, and Ortiz crushed his sixth career grand slam 402 feet in the following frame to blow the game wide open.
Gwinnett (49-50) was in command early on, thanks to a Xavier Avery two-out, two-run dinger in the second.
Tribe starter Drew Hutchison (6-5) benefited from Indy's late rally to earn the win. He limited the G-Braves to two runs on three hits over six innings for his ninth quality start. The 26-year-old faced the minimum from the third through the fifth and pitched around a two-out walk in the sixth with his last of four strikeouts.
Minter (0-2) was tagged for four runs (one earned) on two hits in 2/3 of an inning to take the loss. Andres Santiago pitched five scoreless innings in relief of G-Braves starter Aaron Blair who threw just one inning.
Dovydas Neverauskas recorded his 10th save for Indy by working the final three innings. He is now tied for third in saves in the IL.
Ortiz fell a triple shy of the cycle while tallying four RBI. He owns three of the Tribe's seven four-RBI performances this season. Newman went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored.
The Indians return to the Circle City to open an eight-game homestand Monday night, beginning with a four-game set against Rochester. The Tribe will send right-hander Nick Kingham (3-6, 5.16) to the bump, opposite Red Wings southpaw Nik Turley (4-2, 2.49). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.
