PAUL, Minn. – Malcom Nuñez launched his third home run of the season, but the Indianapolis Indians offense could not overcome a two-run lead by the St. Paul Saints as they took their third loss of the six-game series at CHS Field on Friday night, 2-1.

PAUL, Minn. – Malcom Nuñez launched his third home run of the season, but the Indianapolis Indians offense could not overcome a two-run lead by the St. Paul Saints as they took their third loss of the six-game series at CHS Field on Friday night, 2-1.

St. Paul (21-14) scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning off Hunter Stratton (L, 0-1) courtesy of a balk and subsequent RBI single by Matt Wallner. The Indians (16-20) got on the board in the third with Nuñez’s blast. Both teams then went silent through the final six innings.

RHP Osvaldo Bido entered after Stratton and tossed 5.0 shutout innings with four strikeouts. Saints starter Brent Headrick (W, 1) fanned six through 5.0 innings and Randy Dobnak (S, 1) allowed two hits through the final three frames.

The Indians and Saints will face off in the fifth contest of the six-game series tomorrow afternoon at 3:07 PM ET. LHP Kent Emanuel (1-1, 9.88) will take the mound for Indy against RHP Aaron Sanchez (1-3, 5.61).
