PAPILLION, NEB. – With 13 hits and a key game-winning home run off the bat of Emmanuel Rivera in the seventh inning, the Omaha Storm Chasers handed the Indianapolis Indians their third consecutive loss on Wednesday night, 10-7.

It marks the first time this season the Indians have lost three straight games. With the Omaha win, the Storm Chasers take over sole possession of first place in the Triple-A East Midwest division.

The Indians (11-8) bats came alive early in the game, loading the bases three times in the first two innings to get on the board first. Kevin Kramer singled home Chris Sharpe following a leadoff walk to begin the game, and a bases-loaded walk to Anthony Alford put the Indians up 2-0 in the first.

With two outs in the second inning, the Indians struck again. Bligh Madris drove in his first two Triple-A runs on a single to left field to put Indianapolis up, 4-0. Omaha starter Scott Blewett walked four batters and surrendered all four runs before exiting the game through 1.2 innings.

The Storm Chasers (12-7) began their comeback in the fourth inning with three runs, capped off with a bases-loaded single of their own. A two-run home run by Ryan McBroom gave them the lead, 5-4, in the fifth.

Indianapolis and Omaha went back and forth, with Indy tying the game twice but never regaining its lead. Anthony Alford drove in both of the game-tying runs with a home run in the sixth inning and an RBI single in the seventh to tie the game, 7-7, following Omaha’s second two-run homer of the night.

Geoff Hartlieb (L, 0-1) surrendered the home run to Rivera in the seventh inning as Omaha’s game-winning run. The Storm Chasers then tacked on two more runs in the eighth, both off Indians closer Jandel Gustave.

The Indians had two hits in the final three innings, both coming off Eddie Butler (W, 1-0). Gabe Speier (S, 4) allowed one baserunner in the ninth but closed out the game unscathed.

The six-game series continues tomorrow night at 7:35 PM ET. RHP James Marvel (0-0, 2.30) will face off against RHP Ronald Bolaños (0-1, 4.35).
